Sign up for the Environmental Advocacy Workshop!

The ELS executive is pleased to announce that in January we will be hosting the inaugural Environmental Advocacy Workshop with the support of the Osgoode Experiential Education Fund. We are inviting all of you to participate in what we hope will be an ongoing and expanding program!

The workshop is designed to be a hands on, interactive experience, conducted by two leading Bay Street environmental lawyers, Jack Coop (Osler) and Rod Northey (Gowlings). The workshop will be hosted downtown on consecutive Fridays.

Day One will consist of a seminar where Jack and Rod will share their experience and provide an introduction to the unique advocacy skills and issues relevant to environmental law. Topics are expected to include litigation strategy, evidence, and ethics in environmental advocacy. Day Two will be an opportunity to put your newly acquired advocacy skills to the test with a judged moot (though participation is optional). As there is no Willms & Shier Environmental Law Moot this year, this may be your only chance to get on your feet and advocate in environmental law this school year!

Date: January 22, 2016 and January 29, 2016.
Where: Downtown Toronto (details to follow).
Please sign up here. Space may be limited so sign up soon!
